If the drivers in the link above don’t work, it might be an idea to replace it with a newer sound-card. I found that site but didn’t see any DOS drivers explicitly listed.

Sound card drivers and updates including links to sound card companies download pages. I googled for answers and i found out that it has something to do with a driver and windows refuses to install eds driver that’s why it won’t continue. The sound works as expected. Or directly from ESS Technologies.

Is it the original? Can’t install my driver, ess maestro I removed my ESS sound card already. But I don’t really remember any issues with 9x command prompt. HP only supplies drivers for the original onboard sound-chip.
The driver package contains some utility called maestro. Description, Driver Date, Operating Systems. Thus the reason a sound card was added. I opened Device Manager again and showed hidden devices. Everything’s working fine until the problem I just described above.
